jomny and tree are friends. this image was inspired by the timeless, classic image of a boy and his tiger sitting under a tree. to me, that image has always epitomized the effortless ease of a good and meaningful friendship. i wanted to pay tribute to that image and that idea in the book, so i made this image, where now, instead of two friends sitting under a tree, the tree itself becomes the friend of a single lonely being looking for a friend. i believe that friends can be anyone or anything, so really, friends are all around us if we just take some time to look for them!
